The mission of The Barack Obama Green Charter High School is to prepare students to become informed, engaged and independent critical thinkers and to inspire leaders for sustainable development with a focus on our environment. Students will be educated in a school community that fosters high expectations for both achievement and conduct and facilitates clear connections between the curriculum, the community and the world.
Our Vision
The founders of 'Obama Green' believe in the potential of Plainfield’s youth. Students are supported by a committed and competent community of teachers and administrators who identify high student achievement as their professional priority. The education program draws upon research proven interventions and promising practices of high-performing schools serving a student population comparable to the student population in Plainfield. These are the leaders in the 21st century low carbon green economy.
